Bad weather on your wedding day

The best way to deal with bad weather on your wedding day is to accept that it could happen. In fact, assuming it will happen is a better way to approach the situation because it it happens, you were expecting it and if it doesn’t… how great is that?!

My top tips for bad weather on wedding days are:

1. Have a backup, undercover ceremony space you’re happy with

Moving to Plan B won’t suck if it’s a good Plan B. Don’t just ‘hope for the best, plan a second option for your ceremony space that you’ll be happy with if you have to make the switch.

2. Make a call you are happy with

If it means everything to you to get married in your original ceremony spot, don’t succumb to pressure to move your ceremony location last minute. I’ve seen couples be persuaded to move their ceremony when they really didn’t want to. It’s your wedding day - if you want to get married in the rain, I’m with you 100% and I’ll do everything I can to encourage your guests to have the same attitude.

3. Keep calm and trust your celebrant

Your celebrant is an experienced Plan B-er. We know how to move large groups of people quickly and how to set up new spaces on short notice. We’ll work with the venue staff to ensure that the new ceremony location is beautiful and comfortable.
